ENET Educational Society is a professional association founded in 1985 as the Agency Placement Officers’ Network (APON). In 1991, the association transitioned to NETWERCC (Networking, Education, and Training for Workers in Employment, Rehabilitation, and Career Counselling) which was incorporated as a non-profit society in May 1992. With the retirement of its Executive Coordinator in late 2005, the association formally transitioned from NETWERCC to ENET (Employment Network, Education, and Training for Rehabilitation and Career Development Practitioners).

ENET’s mandate is to provide a central networking, education, and training service to develop the knowledge and skills of its members, thus enhancing their effectiveness for serving their clientele. ENET has an active board of directors and co-executive coordinators, comprising leaders in the career development community who are committed to serving members and career professionals throughout all regions of British Columbia.

ENET is very pleased to announce that it has partnered with Life Strategies Ltd. to offer a 20-hour course on career development theories that will satisfy the “theories course” requirement for the grandfathering option of the Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) credential. The 2-day course will be offered on December 2 – 3, in conjunction with ENET’s December 3rd training day – register now to avoid disappointment. (Note: if you don’t need a full theories course but are interested in emerging career theories and models, you can attend the regular ENET training day on December 3 only – and join us for the Netty Awards celebration at lunch).

CMA & ENET Merger Announcement

The CMA and ENET Board’s of Directors are excited to announce they have both voted unanimously to merge these two organizations. Board members from both groups are in favor of the proposed amalgamation, which would create one society to represent the BC career development community – The BC Career Development Association (BCCDA).

As we enter into this process, we are now soliciting feedback from members of CMA and ENET, as well as other members of the BC Career Development community. We want to know what opportunities you see this merger providing, and also to solicit your concerns so that we can take those into account during our planning. We have therefore created a joint online survey, open for completion from August 20th to September 15th, 2008.

This quick survey of three questions should take only a couple minutes to complete.  Please click on the link below, which will take you directly to this confidential survey. As an added bonus, the first 150 survey respondents will be entered into a draw for a complimentary one year individual membership.
