CMA & ENET Merger Announcement

The CMA and ENET Board’s of Directors are excited to announce they have both voted unanimously to merge these two organizations. Board members from both groups are in favor of the proposed amalgamation, which would create one society to represent the BC career development community – The BC Career Development Association (BCCDA).

As we enter into this process, we are now soliciting feedback from members of CMA and ENET, as well as other members of the BC Career Development community. We want to know what opportunities you see this merger providing, and also to solicit your concerns so that we can take those into account during our planning. We have therefore created a joint online survey, open for completion from August 20th to September 15th, 2008.

This quick survey of three questions should take only a couple minutes to complete.  Please click on the link below, which will take you directly to this confidential survey. As an added bonus, the first 150 survey respondents will be entered into a draw for a complimentary one year individual membership.

Making the Case: Demonstrating the Impact of Career Services
The Making the Case: Demonstrating the Impact of Career Services is a BC Career and Workforce Development Alliance resource which was presented at the ASPECT conference to stimulate research within our sector in BC. The purpose of this brief summary is to present highlights of a paper that was written by Deirdre Pickerell and Roberta Neault (funded by ASPECT) to inform front-line career and employment service providers, funders, and policy-makers about the limits of some research currently being conducted in our field and to present practical strategies for more effective research practices. The summary document has been posted on the ENET website, with ASPECT’s permission.
