ENET Newsletter Career Development Theories Course and Training Day – Register Now! ENET is very pleased to announce that it has partnered with Life Strategies Ltd. to offer a 20-hour course on career development theories that will satisfy the “theories course” requirement for the grandfathering option of the Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) credential. The 2-day course will be offered on December 2 – 3, in conjunction with ENET’s December 3rd training day – register now to avoid disappointment. (Note: if you don’t need a full theories course but are interested in emerging career theories and models, you can attend the regular ENET training day on December 3 only – and join us for the Netty Awards celebration at lunch). Board members from both groups are in favor of the proposed amalgamation, which would create one society to represent the BC career development community – The BC Career Development Association (BCCDA). As we enter into this process, we are now soliciting feedback from members of CMA and ENET, as well as other members of the BC Career Development community. We want to know what opportunities you see this merger providing, and also to solicit your concerns so that we can take those into account during our planning. We have therefore created a joint online survey, open for completion from August 20th to September 15th, 2008. This quick survey of three questions should take only a couple minutes to complete. Please click on the link below, which will take you directly to this confidential survey. As an added bonus, the first 150 survey respondents will be entered into a draw for a complimentary one year individual membership. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=F7CUPiYBCOlCZ9BpqOaarg_3d_3d For more information on the merger click here VRA and ENET are excited to present Dr. Norm Amundson on Thursday September 18, 2008 in Kelowna, BC For this special event, Dr. Amundson will touch on two topics: Perceptions of Mattering by People with Mental Illnesses & Workplace Attractors Date: September 18, 2008 Time: 8:30am – 4:00pm Location: Rotary Centre for the Arts (Salloum Room), 421 Cawston Avenue, Kelowna, BC Door Fee: $50 for ENET & CARP members (show your membership card), $75 for non-members Please pre-register prior to September 14, 2008 by emailing info@enetsociety.com. 10 hours Ethics Course Opportunity – July 2, 2008
Through a special arrangement with Jody Hawley, the July 2nd ENET Training Day will meet the course requirements under the grandfathering option for the CCDP. This course, “Professional Ethics for Career Development Practitioners,” can be completed by attending the full ENET training day (Wednesday July 2nd), participating in additional small group discussions on the ENET Training Day (prior to and following the afternoon session), completing the required readings (prior to the Training Day) and submitting a final assignment (due August 5, 2008). For the full course outline click here The course is $75.00 plus the cost of the ENET Training Day ($20.00 for ENET members and $40.00 for non-members). All readings will be provided free of charge at the time of registration. Pre-registration for this option is necessary by June 30, 2008. Please email ENET Educational Society to register at info@enetsociety.com. Payment can be made via credit card or cheque. New Policy: Training Day Pre-registration Due to a disappointing turn-out at the February Fraser Valley training day, and uneven attendance at some of the other regional events, we have now decided to institute pre-registration for all regional training days with the exception of the Lower Mainland.
